About

Venus and Mars Films was founded in 2020. We are a family film production company dedicated to creating imaginative films that connect and inspire people of all backgrounds, race and genders.

Inspiration

We want children to see fun adventures, involving characters who want more than to live a life – they want to live a dream. And not just living the dream either, living the dream in reality. The aim is to highlight that being an astronaut; building huge computers; being surrounded by cute animals; solving real mysteries, is possible with some hard work and dedication.

Imagination

We want to take viewers to other worlds – fun worlds which spark creativity in young children and make adults feel like kids again. Each film will include the weird and wonderful: lampposts with springs, playing card worlds, a mum that can control the weather to name a few.

Integration

The yin and yang logo is a visual representation of our objective to connect those from all around the world, of all genders, all experiences, in order to create something amazing. Our desire is for children to watch these films and instead of saying ‘I wish I could be like them’, they would say, ‘ wow, I could be like them’.

The Team

Georgina Morgan – CEO

‘I grew up in North London where opportunities rarely existed past retail. University was a fairly unknown concept to me until I was 16, at which point I had decided to go without any thought of where it might lead. At the University of Southampton, I studied Film and English. I joined a society called Wessex Films (which I recommend for any budding filmmakers at UoS) where I learnt how to make short films. I continued to make short films post- graduation, while working full time and training to be a script supervisor. With several short films and script supervisor credits under my belt, I started to form an idea of Venus and Mars. Watching and reading family films and screenplays made me realise a few things. 1) I was always taught in these films how to be a good person, a princess, sometimes an animal, but rarely how to prepare for a realistic dream/career. 2) The best friends I grew up with in London, who were of different cultures and race, were rarely represented. 3) Even in the ever changing world, there was still an embedded idea of what is expected from from each gender. I had a feature screenplay already written and a notebook full of ideas, and with those concocted the projects of Venus and Mars’
